Workouts of the Week: 6/17-6/23

So I was in Maui for vacation most of this past week and I was excited to use the gym facilities every morning. Turns out that it cost $10 per person per day. Are you kidding me?!? There was no way we were paying for that. We found out there was a path that many people walk and run along the hotel/beach strip we were staying at so we got some exercise done there.

Monday: Packing doesn't really count but it helped my arms a bit!
Tuesday: Swam a few laps in the pool.
Wednesday: Jogged for 5 mins (got a bad cramp after). Walked ~2+ miles.
Thursday: Jogged 1.7 miles. Walked 0.5 miles. Jogged 1 mile.
Friday: Hiked 2 miles on the Kapalua Coastal Trail.
Saturday: No workout
Sunday: No workout

Officially a #CalPolyProud College Graduate!!!!!

So, I graduated this past Saturday!!! So exciting. Like, so extremely exciting.
Finally walking across the stage. Business Management Information Systems major right here.
Cuz my family calls me "Panda" :)
I was seriously decked out.
So many beautiful different flower leis and creative homemade leis! Loved them all!!

This weekend has been crazy. Actually probably almost the whole past week has been crazy ever since I took my last final (ever, what!!!) Here's an overview of my week:

Sunday: EPIC Senior Send-Off.
Monday: Study for AERO Final.
Tuesday: Study for AERO Final.
Wednesday: AERO Final, 10am-1pm (finished before 11am, what up). Made ribbon leis. Caught up on The Bachelorette episode I missed on Monday. Made graduation cards
Thursday: Made graduation cards. Dropped off ribbon leis. Friends came down to SLO!!! (but missed Glo Brew at Slo Brew)
Friday: Breakfast at Louisa's with my friends. Met up with Mimi Ho. API Commencement. Sumo Sushi with family. Downtown with friends!
Saturday: Didn't go to 6am bar crawl. Was almost late to my own graduation (but thanks to my best friend Eunice for curling my hair at 8:30 in the morning!). Graduation 10am-12pm. Business IS Graduation 12-1pm. Graduation dinner at CPK 3-5pm. EPIC Grad Party. Downtown with friends again!
Sunday:  Friends helped me pack. They went back home while I went to Eunice's Graduation 12-2pm. Packed and cleaned. Firestone, mmm. Bobastop for crepe and popcorn chicken, mmm.
Monday: Packed and cleaned. Packed and cleaned. Drove 4 hours home. Dinner with family. Visit great-grandma. Pack for Hawaii.

Just haven't really had a break for the longest time...this is seriously more than I accomplished in the whole past quarter probably. But don't get me wrong, I'm so extremely excited to be a college graduate, to make my parents proud (and put their hard-earned money to good use), to go to Hawaii again (and get tan), and most of all, to really start my life as nervous as that sounds.

FYI: I had no chance to work out....but I considered packing and cleaning a workout this week. Moving boxes and constantly bending down is tiring! And so was cleaning. If you ever clean 3 sets of blinds, I dare you to tell me your arm wasn't tired after! My arm got sore the next day. Although none was cardio, arm strength is not bad!

Graduation Gifts

Amidst all the "studying" I'm doing for my AERO final, I have lots of graduation gifts to make. So many people are graduating with me who have really made a difference in my college career and I'll be putting those thoughts into writing through cards or ribbon leis (or both). Also, I'm selling ribbon leis in school colors to help raise money for friends' summer mission trips! I hope I make enough to divide up and least some people will be receiving ribbon leis for graduation though!

Below are the ribbon leis I'm selling and cards I'm giving out (or selling if you'd like to purchase for friends!) The cards actually come free of charge with any ribbon lei you buy from me as well. Let me know if you're interested :) Grad is only 5 days away!!!

Workouts of the Week: 6/3-6/9

I'm going to try to see if I can keep this "Workouts of the Week" going. It will motivate me to workout at least a few times a week so I have something to show for myself. Here's an overview of my workouts this week:

Sunday: No workout
Monday: 1-2-3 Ab Workout
Tuesday: Fitness at Home Workout
Wednesday: HiitLite: Slim and Sexy
Thursday: Rest
Friday: Rest
Saturday: Bishops Peak Sunrise Hike

The Pinterest workouts worked out pretty well for having done them for the first time. The sunrise hike was so amazing! I have to admit, my calves were totally burning by the end and my legs felt a little shaky going back done because they haven't done this hike in years but it felt really good. Even my shoulder blades/arms felt a little sore the next day (there's a part at the end where you have to climb the rocks and use your arm strength for grip).

HiitLite: Slim and Sexy Workout

This was my Wednesday workout. As I was in a rush to meet someone, I only did this once through but it says to repeat 3 times. It was a nice light interval workout but I definitely have to repeat it at least twice next time. I chose the HiitLite because I just wanted to test these workout videos out. I think the other Hiit videos are more intense (hence the "Lite" added at the end) so maybe I'll make my way toward those after I can master the Lite videos. Check out their channel--they have different playlists to suit your needs.

Naked Palette: Gunmetal Smokey Eye

This time I tried a smokey eye using Gunmetal instead of Hustle. Personally, I think I like the Hustle smokey eye better because I just don't like the Gunmetal shade as much but it still doesn't look bad.

Outer lid: Gunmetal
Inner lid: Sin
Browbone and inner corners: Virgin

Applied the same way as the Hustle description. Maybe I should post pictures next time to show exactly where I put each shade. I just watched a video on YouTube that showed an easy smokey eye with just 2 colors and that's where I learned this simple technique. Maybe a short tutorial with pictures will be a post soon :) You'll be amazed at how easy it is.

Oh yeah, I actually applied eyeliner and mascara this time (no foundation though). I was too lazy to use liquid (I'm still trying to perfect that; I know I'm late in the game) so I used pencil. I use mark. Eyemarker in Jet which is discontinued but here's their website: The mascara I currently use is the Maybelline NY One by One Volum' Express. And I'm currently using a L'Oreal eyelash curler, which I hope to upgrade to a Shiseido or Shu Uemura this summer!

Fitness at Home Workout

Here's my Tuesday workout. Since my abs were sore from Monday's workout, I decided to do a workout that looked less ab-focused. I repeated this twice. Next time I'll go for 3 repeats. As I'm posting this the day after, my arms and thighs feel a bit sore from this one. Don't you love feeling sore the next day?

Naked Palette: Hustle Smokey Eye

This is a very light, neutral smokey eye I practiced on myself. I know I didn't apply foundation, eyeliner, or mascara or curl my lashes but I was lazy.

Outer half lid: Hustle
Inner half lid: Sin
Browbone and inner corners: Virgin

After applying Hustle first and Sin second, I blend the two a bit and also blend Sin over the top of Hustle. I think this is a great simple, everyday kind of look if I ever chose to apply shadow.

1-2-3 Ab Workout

As I'm headed to Maui in 2 weeks with my family, I decided to (finally) try out the workouts I've pinned to my Pinterest fitness board. Here's the one I tried out on Monday this week. It made my abs sore the next day.

Essie: Merino Cool

Just bought my very first bottle of Essie nail polish!!! So exciting. I first tried this color on at a nail salon in SF and had it painted on my toes. I thought it was beautiful and I had to get it. It's like a purple/grayish taupe to me. Sophisticated, maybe even work-appropriate. Anyway, bought it at Target for ~$8. Don't think I've ever paid so much for nail polish before but this may be the first of many. Oh why Essie, why...why must all your colors be so tempting to buy? It didn't help that I loved how smooth and easy it is to apply.

New Beginnings

Hello Blogger,

I believe the last time I used Blogger was in middle or high school but time for a fresh new start. Post-grad life is just around the corner and I need something different from Tumblr, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. I love social media. But I can't imagine using Tumblr to document certain things. I'm hoping to use this blog as a way to remember and document things, such as fashion and makeup and fitness routines that personally works for me or that I'm currently trying out. Can't wait.
